Handcrafted by women artisans from the Tonga tribe living in Northern Zimbabwe’s Zambezi Valley. These baskets are woven by hand from Ilala palm fibers native to Zimbabwe. Tonga baskets are woven using the over and under style of simple weaving and a 20 inch diameter basket can take around 2 weeks to complete, which provides a sustainable source of income for their families.
